Cancer Minimum Datasets
These are produced by the Royal College of Pathologists and indicate the information that should be recorded on biopsy and excision specimens from particular cancer sites. They form the pathology data sub-set of the National Cancer Dataset and form the basis of the PathoSys ® data input screen.
LIMS or LIS
This is the Laboratory Information (Management) System and is used in pathology laboratories for the management of test requests, workflow and results. AES Medical’s PathoSys ® cancer information system can be readily interfaced to existing LIMS to provide integrated cancer reporting functionality.
PathoSys®
PathoSys® is a pathology cancer data capture, reporting and information management system developed by AES Medical. It is the first system recognised by the Royal College of Pathologists for dataset reporting. Its interactive data input makes it simple and efficient to use and provides more highly structured data than simple proformas or templates.
