Suspected Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Disease (CIIBD) Project

AES Medical is pleased to announce that it has entered into a project with Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust to develop a pathology IT system to assist in the diagnosis of Suspected Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Disease (CIIBD).

It is hoped that the proposed system developed with the pathology department at the Queens Medical Centre will enhance the guidelines published by the British Society of Gastroenterology for the initial diagnosis of suspected chronic idiopathic inflammatory bowel disease.

The aim of the system is to provide a vehicle for audit and to assist pathologists to obtain a greater consistency/reproducibility and accuracy of diagnosis.

PathoSys® updated to include new Renal Dataset

AES Medical has updated its PathoSys® cancer reporting software to include the Royal College of Pathologists amended Adult Renal Parenchymal Cancer Dataset.

AES Medical is obliged through its licence agreement with the Royal College of Pathologists to keep PathoSys® up to date with latest Cancer Datasets. This rapid turnaround for the Renal dataset demonstrates our commitment to this process and the benefits it brings.

The new amended dataset published in November 2006 supersedes the 1st edition published in 2001. The new dataset is due for review November 2009.

The new Adult Renal Parenchymal Cancer Dataset along with the others published by the Royal College of Pathologists is available for download on the Royal College of Pathologists website.
